Description

This Eastern Screech Owl was sunning herself, perfectly filling the hole in this old tree next to a local gas station. This particular tree has held so much life in its worn and capacious body. So many of them hold important life, particularly during nesting season. Especially when it comes to owls, who nest sooner than other birds, it’s important to not cut down snags, or any trees, that might house birds and other animals that depend on them for roosting, nesting, denning, and food.
