Joseph is a life-long naturalist with a special interest in animals who often inspire fear. Through some difficult realities of being both Black and disabled in America, he has developed a special kinship with these animals whom he feels have endured similar mistreatment. He intends to spend as much time as possible seeking ways to advocate for some of the world's smallest and most under-appreciated inhabitants, encouraging more people who share his unique experiences to have a more enriching life outdoors. Most of all, he hopes the images he creates will inspire onlookers to appreciate animals they may have overlooked much of their lives, and then seek to preserve their place on earth.
