Description

The Southern lapwing is a widespread wader bird of South America. Inhabitant of humid meadows and banks of rivers and lakes, they are also commonly found in pastures and even soccer fields. It nests in hollows in the ground and when it sees the approach of other individuals and species, it moves away from the nest to draw attention and makes shallow and aggressive flights towards the invader.
