Protea caffra gazensis
Location
Chimanimani National Park, Mozambique
Date
04/12/2019
Description
This beautiful plant is just one of many amazing organisms in this highly underappreciated reserve along the Zimbabwean border, which offers spectacular hiking but receives very few visitors. The Chimanimani Mountains are characterized by rocky quartzite soils that have given rise to several rare and endemic species; this subspecies of Manica sugarbush is confined to these mountains and related massifs nearby.
