Description

The Spectacled Caiman gets its name from the ridge between its eyes. This species can reach 2.5 meters in total length and weigh about 45 kilograms. They feed mostly on small mammals and birds but can also eat crabs, fish, and snails. The newborns can rely on a diet rich in insects and other arthropods. The species can be found from Mexico to Brazil and have been introduced in other countries like Cuba and Puerto Rico.
