Description
Native to the humid forests of southern and southeastern Brazil and northeastern Argentina, Podocarpus is an altitude conifer tree that occurs mainly in forests dominated by the critically endangered Brazilian pine. Campos do Jordão State Park is a Brazilian conservation unit created to protect an important remnant of the Atlantic Forest composed of a mosaic of Araucaria and Podocarpus forest, Altitude Fields, and Nebular Forest, being one of the largest coniferous reserves in the state of São Paulo.
