Frasera albomarginata
Location
Spring Mountains, NV, USA

Description
The first time I saw the basal rosette of leaves in Frasera albomarginata I was blown away. They are so striking against the rocky soil. This species is endemic to the hot and dry desert mountains of the western US and the flowers and plants produced are as beautiful as the unique leaves! This photo is an example of the desert plants that I want people to appreciate. Many think of deserts as barren and lifeless, but just about every desert on earth is loaded with unique and highly adapted plant life. They are well worth exploring!
