Description

Green Iguanas are not always green! Adult individuals, especially males can show many other red and orange tones. Green Iguanas are large lizards that feed almost exclusively on vegetation. Young individuals are green because it helps them camouflage and avoids predators. This species is native to the tropical regions of the American continent but it has been introduced to many islands in the Caribbean and Florida.
